A destination renowned for its sensational sunrise views, Rose Bay faces towards the east, and is home to the wonderful Mother Beddock Lookout, a brisk 1km hike directly upwards, providing unmatched views of the sandy shores and great vast blue ocean below. Many lovebirds choose to enjoy the views and magical atmosphere of both hiking trails of an afternoon or early morning, and often take a knee and pop the question with the gorgeous natural views providing an impressive background to such a monumental moment.
Diving back into the immaculate ocean, enjoying a paddle on a stand-up paddle board may just be the most romantic, and scenic way to spend an afternoon on your magical Bowen honeymoon. Neighbouring Horseshoe Bay, Grays Bay is another iconic natural wonder hosting gorgeous, calm blue waters – ideal for paddling and kayaking. Enjoy time on the water well into the late afternoon and be sure to stay on the shoreline to witness the sun set over the sea. Along with the tropical escape’s top beaches, Bowen also homes many secluded gems like Murrays Bay, Queens Beach and Kings Beach and in timing your visit perfectly, you may just find you have the entire bay or beach to yourself – talk about romantic!
